#FreconFriday – Week 6!

Here’s week 6 of FreconFriday. I decided to remix one of my favorite T.I. songs of all time “Tell em I said that.”

My voice is getting seriously messed up. Recently, I found out…or…realized that my “studio” is filled with black mold. Which explains why I have been slowly dying after each week.

I have a wicked cough. And I sound all congested. Hence the extra nasaly nature of this track.

I’ll figure something out though. Dont you worry!

Bya!

Logic – Life is Good

This beat is so dope. Curious as to what the sample is.

Logic has been consistently on his way up the past 3 years. He’s recently made it a bit more mainstream, signing to Def Jam records this past month.

For those interested, this track is off of his new mixtape “Welcome to Forever,” which is free on datpiff.com

I’d suggest checking it out if you haven’t already. He really is good.

But this beat!

DAMN!

#FreconFriday Jay – Z “Open Letter” remix!

Check out this weeks #FreconFriday installment. I decided to take on Jay-Z’s “Open Letter.” I had a lil bit of fun with color saturation as well.

YA DIIIIG?

Goodnight playlist – Songs you should dream to

Found this on 8tracks.com

For whatever reason, I can’t embed it, so just click on the link above.

first of all, excited to see that site still around. I think its a solid concept, and have discovered some really awesome music through it. I’m sure there are a lot of variants out there, but for those unfamiliar with the service, it allows users to upload playlists and tag them. You can find anything.

Type in “Dumped” and you’ll find a bunch of playlists.

Type in “going swimming” and I bet you find one.

The Sandpit – A Day In The Life Of NYC (a miniature)

Well, aside from the fact that this was put out 3 years ago, this video is awesome.

The Sandpit from Sam O'Hare on Vimeo.

The minature aspect of it is right on. At first I had trouble discerning as to whether or not this was some sort of Bob the Builder / Thomas The Train animation.

The music pairing was done excellently. I think this video succeeds in allowing you to get the whole “ant hill” vibe from the city. Just watching the workings. The innards. It’s fascinating. I suggest you watch it!

FreconFriday!! Cher Lloyd – With ur Love Hip-Hop Remix

#FreconFriday continues! Check out this weeks installment.

For whatever reason, I decided to remix Cher Lloyd’s “With Ur Love.”

Actually, scratch that, I can tell you exactly why I remixed it. My friend and talented producer Mike Swan emailed me the instrumental when I asked him for something dope to rhyme over. And the rest is history.

I tried mixing up the filming a bit. I noticed that in my previous videos, I just would one take the verse. It got kind of boring. So I spliced multiple takes. I think it’s a lot more interesting this way.

Not to say that it’s particularly interesting to begin with.

I’m bracing myself for a lot of flack on this one. I know its an incredibly poppy track, but I find those the most fun to rhyme over. It’s like, “hey, I’m doing something I’m not supposed to be doing. I’m bringing dope lyrics to mainstream music.”

Anyway, hope you dig it!

Mac Miller – SDS (Produced by Flying Lotus)

I didn’t know Flying Lotus produced for hip-hop? Someone inform as to whether or not this is his first crossover.

Mac Miller holds himself particularly well. Listen to his lyrics, he’s not just throwing words together. It’s coherent and he kills some multi’s

Dope Dope track.

Logic – Nasty (Music Video)

Logic dropped the next single from his upcoming mixtape “Welcome to Forever.”

“Nasty” is self-described. The beat is infectious. Hard hitting. Logic has been killing them for about 2 years now. He’s just been consistently dope. I remember after the first mixtape thinking to myself “How can he sustain this?” but, well, he is.

Check him out!

Alex Frecon – Lil Rugrat (Frecon Friday!)

Here’s the newest installment of #FreconFriday.

Basically, I just downloaded an mp3 of the Rugrats intro and chopped it up to fit a loop. Added some drums and a baseline et voila!

Alex Frecon – Shine On (Shad K – Keep Shining remix)

Frecon Friday is in it’s third week!

Check out this new installment!
